Capitol Window and Door is a second-generation family business that has been serving the residents of South Central Kentucky since 1956. Capitol Window and Door has a reputation throughout this area for professionally installing quality products at fair prices and standing behind its work. A good reputation isn't something we bought, it's something we earned by diligently serving the area for more than 50 years.

Alan has been the owner and manager of Capitol Window and Door since the mid-'80s. He took over the family business from his father, who had been running the company since the 1960s. Many of our repeat customers make sure Tim will install the job before they order windows. So before someone starts cutting holes in the side of your home, make sure the person doing the work is someone you can trust.
  3. Quality: Even if installed correctly, the quality of your replacement window still makes a big difference. At Capitol, we use only the highest-quality products from companies like Earthwise Windows, Soft-Lite, Alside and ProVia. We personally inspect every window or door to make sure it conforms to the highest standards of quality.
  4. Personalization: The windows we install in your home don’t just come off a shelf somewhere. Each window is custom built specifically for each window opening in your home. Windows are available in double- and triple-pane, with custom color exteriors, a variety of interior finishes and in several different styles.
  5. Durability: Not all replacement windows are the same. Although most look very similar, what’s inside makes a big difference! All of our windows are made from 100 percent virgin vinyl. All of our vinyl extrusions are double walled for extra strength, and all of the horizontal parts of the window sash contain reinforcement for additional strength. Extra strength means durability and security.
  6. Longevity: All of the replacement windows we sell come with a lifetime transferable warranty. Many of our windows feature additional glass breakage warranties and many of our doors feature lifetime warranties, as well.
  7. Service: What if you have a problem with your windows? Your windows are covered by a lifetime transferable warranty. You may say, “Big deal, lots of windows have a lifetime warranty!” That’s true. But a warranty is only as good as the company that backs it. We have been in business for 55 years and plan on being around another 55. If you ever do have any problems or questions about your windows, we are here to make it right! We could stand on our windows, but we prefer to stand behind them!
  8. Value: At Capitol, we understand that there is more to value than a cheap sticker price. We use only the best materials and the best people to construct and install our windows.   9. Performance: Our Earthwise Eclipse vinyl replacement window offers excellent performance and high quality, all at an affordable price. When built with high-performance XL70 Superglass, our Eclipse series of double-hung windows have a U-value of .30 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of .19. These ratings mean the window can qualify for up to $2,000 in rebates from Kentucky Home Performance, up to $200 in Federal Energy Tax Credits, up to $250 in Kentucky Energy Tax Credits and up to $500 from TVA as part of their Energyright program. We also have triple-pane windows available with R-values as high as 10! Whatever level of efficiency you are looking for, Capitol has the right window for your home.
  10. Trust: At Capitol, we do business the right way. We are fully licensed and insured, and we stay up to date with our industries best installation practices. We are fully qualified to comply with the recently enacted Environmental Protection Agency's lead renovation, repair and painting rules. We are an EPA-registered renovation firm and employ an EPA-certified renovator. After April 22, 2010, any window installation firm or contractor working in structures built before 1978 must have these qualifications. Violators of this law are subject to federal penalties of $37,500 per day, per violation.
