POLY-TEX® 4000 BY CAPITOL WINDOW AND DOOR
The Poly-Tex® 4000 is our most popular window series. It is a top of the line, quality, and efficient window at an affordable price! 85% of the windows we install are of the Poly-Tex® 4000 series.
Everyone wants a Cadillac ride at a Pontiac price. Life doesn't work that way, but we didn't let that stop us from trying. The Poly-Tex® window is the result. Although the Poly-Tex® window is not the least expensive available, you can spend twice as much and still not find a better double pane vinyl replacement window.
Capitol Window and Door has won several national awards from the Vinyl Window and Door Institute for the design and installation of the Poly-Tex® window by its dealers. Overall, we have thousands of satisfied customers with Poly-Tex® windows in their homes.
The Poly-Tex® incorporates many features that others only offer as options, if they are even offered at all. The Poly-Tex® window, as well as the Ultimate 5000 Series, adds aluminum reinforcement to the horizontal members of its window sashes. Aluminum reinforcement gives your Poly-Tex® windows added strength to stand the test of time.
The Poly-Tex® window is also tops in efficiency. With Low Emissivity Glass and argon gas between the panes, the Poly-Tex® window has an R value energy rating of 3.45. This rating is superior to most other windows in its price range and comparable to most double pane windows with a much higher price tag.
The R value of your window measures the amount of energy that is transmitted thermally from one side of your glass to the other. This does not take into account the amount of air that is able to physically penetrate the window itself. This is where the Poly-Tex® window truly shines.
The Poly-Tex® window has an air infiltration rate of .04 CFM. This means that wind can't be felt blowing through the window. In fact, our window is sealed so tightly that the amount of sound transmitted through the window is dramatically reduced.
The Poly-Tex® 4000 window even incorporates DURASEAL™ insulated glass technology as a standard feature to prevent moisture, stains, or fog between the panes.
So how can we sell you a superior window at a price competitive with lesser, inferior windows? We manufacture, we sell, we install. Buying directly from the manufacturer means you save money.
ULTIMATE 5000 SERIES BY CAPITOL WINDOW AND DOOR
If you like the Poly-Tex® 4000 but need just a little bit more, this is the window for you.
The Ultimate 5000 window shares much in common with its older brother, the Poly-Tex® 4000. It has a very similar look, feel and function to the Poly-Tex®, but comes with many new features. The Ultimate 5000 window has a much cleaner streamlined look than the Poly-Tex®. It's all-welded construction means there are no screw heads visible on the sash rail. The tilt releases are also recessed into the sash to give the window a smoother look. The vent stops have also been improved to make them easier to operate.
Just like the Poly-Tex® 4000, the Ultimate 5000 window is available in either white or almond and is available with smooth or contoured grids, Low Emissivity Glass and argon, as well as half or full screens. The Ultimate 5000 window is manufactured by Capitol Window and Door at our assembly plant in Bowling Green, KY.
SASH STRENGTH
The glass is the heaviest component of any window, and it is very important to have superior strength in the sash rails that surround the glass. In our years of experience, we have seen many windows of lesser quality that tend to bow in the horizontal sash rails. To eliminate the possibility of deflection in the sash rails of the Poly-Tex® 4000 and the Ultimate 5000, we insert an extruded aluminum reinforcement bar in every horizontal sash rail. Not only does this strengthen the sash, but it also provides additional support for the screws which hold the locking system onto the sash.
DURASEAL™ INSULATED GLASS
Everyone has seen an insulated glass failure; the indications are moisture, stains, or fog between the panes. To eliminate this problem and provide our customers with years of trouble-free service and the finest warranty, available we use DURASEAL™, the most reliable glass sealing method available.
Duraseal's patented technology provides a high level of strength while maintaining necessary flexibility, low permeability and outstanding thermal properties. This means that the glass unit in your window will be strong enough to stand the test of time, while remaining flexible enough to withstand extreme changes in temperature. Your window will not fog up in between the panes and will be extraordinarily resistant to condensation formation. This guarantees that your window will perform well for a very long time!
As an added bonus, the DURASEAL™ method outperforms conventional sealing methods by actually improving window energy efficiency as it helps to insulate to outer edge of the glass. This "warm-edge" technology is an option with many window systems, but is a standard feature of the Poly-Tex® 4000 and the Ultimate 5000 windows. We were one of the first window manufacturers to use the DURASEAL™ method of insulating glass when they introduced the system in 2002. DURASEAL™ is manufactured by Truseal Technologies, Inc., in Barbourville, KY.
LOW EMISSIVITY GLASS
Low Emissivity Glass, or Low E Glass as it is commonly known, is a type of glass with much better insulating properties than regular clear glass. Because of its superior insulating properties, Capitol Window and Door highly recommends its use in all replacement and new construction windows that we sell.
Low E Glass works by reflecting thermal (heat) energy. Simply put, Low E Glass helps to keep your warm air inside during the winter and to keep warm air outside during the summer. The higher efficiency of Low E Glass helps to keep your heating and cooling bills lower and serves to make your home more comfortable. Adding Argon or Krypton gas between the glass panes also improves your windows' insulating properties.
The most common misconception about Low E Glass is that it is a "window tint" and will therefore make the window darker. Although Low E coatings do cause a slight darkening of the window, the effect is not visibly noticeable in an installed window. In the Capitol Window and Door showroom, we have a large four pane window. Two of the panels have Low E Glass and two do not. The only way to tell which windows have Low E is to place your hand on the window surface on a cold day. The window with Low E will feel much less cold than the window without it. This is because less energy is escaping out the Low E coated window.
Aftermarket films, which can make your window darker and are applied directly to exterior glass, are not true Low E coatings. These products can cause your glass to crack and will void your warranty. Capitol Window and Door strongly cautions against these or any other aftermarket products. Genuine Low E coatings are sprayed onto the glass before construction of the window. The coating is contained between the two or three panes of insulated glass so as to avoid scratching.
Capitol Window and Door carries two types of Low E Glass. Energy Advantage Low E is a Hard Coat Low E and is available on the Poly-Tex® 4000 and Ultimate 5000 Series. Acclimate Low E is a Soft Coat Low E and is available on the Imperial and Barrington window.
Adding Low E Glass to your new construction or replacement window is one of the most cost effective methods for improving the energy efficiency of your home. As a general rule, the expense of adding Low E Glass to your windows will be recouped within two or three years. The Low E will last for the life of the window and thus will continue saving you money and keeping your home comfortable for a long, long time.
NEW CONSTRUCTION WINDOWS
Whether you are building your own home or you build a lot of homes, Capitol Window and Door has a new construction window that is right for you. We manufacture our windows in a variety of shapes and sizes in order to meet your needs, whatever they may be.
Our Builder's Choice line of new construction windows is available in either a single hung or a double hung model. Both of these windows are available in white or almond and with or without Low Emissivity Glass, argon gas, or grids between the glasses. We also offer these windows as standard double hung windows or single hung windows (meaning they open and close vertically), slider windows (meaning they open and close horizontally), and in a variety of shapes such as half-rounds, circles, octagons, triangles, and gothic styles. If you need a window that doesn't fall within these parameters, then we will be happy to meet with you and design a custom window that suits your needs.
Although our Builder's Choice line of windows is of outstanding strength and quality, they may not be the best fit for some higher end homes. We have adapted our top of the line Ultimate 5000 vinyl replacement window for use in new construction so that you can have our most attractive replacement window in your new home.
VINYL REPLACEMENT WINDOWS
No one would say all cars are the same or all houses are the same. So why do people believe that all windows are the same? If that is true, what causes one window to fall apart after five years and another to last a lifetime?
Different people need different types of windows to fit their specific needs. Whether it is a rental property that needs mending or a $1,000,000 home with giant picture windows, we have a product to fit your needs.
Vinyl replacement windows are long lasting and require very little or often no maintenance at all. Vinyl replacement windows are available in our Poly-Tex® 4000 Series, Ultimate 5000 Series, Imperial Series, and Excalibur Series.
IMPERIAL SERIES
The next time you are in your local hardware store, try a little experiment. Tell them you want a double hung vinyl replacement window 52 inches wide by 79 inches tall, dark bronze in color on the exterior with a cherry faux wood grain finish on the interior. Request a triple-paned window with two layers of Low E coating on the glass. Tell them you want grids between the glass in a diamond pattern, metal reinforcement and foam insulation in the sash. Tell them you want Krypton gas in between the panes to keep Superman out! Finally, mention that you want the window to last forever!!! They will probably think you are crazy until you get to the part about Superman. Then they will know you are crazy, or maybe, just maybe, they'll realize you've heard about the Imperial line of windows from Soft-Lite®.
Believe it or not, you really can get a window just like the one described above. There really is such a thing as Krypton gas and it is available in your windows, though for legal reasons, we are unable to offer any guarantees about its ability to keep Superman out of your home! You can get a vinyl window that simulates the look of wood. Imperial windows are available in 18 exterior colors and 7 interior colors. Custom colors can even be ordered by using a paint sample of the color of your choice.
The Poly-Tex® 4000 and the Ultimate 5000 are great windows at a low price, but they don't offer all of the features that Imperial windows include. The options on these windows are almost endless. If you have very specific ideas in mind about what you want to do, give us a call and see how the Imperial line of windows can work for you!
EXCALIBUR SERIES
Designed with your budget in mind, the Excalibur window gives you a quality window with a great warranty at an affordable price. Although this window does not carry the superb air infiltration rating of the Poly-Tex® 4000 window, the Excalibur window, with the addition of Low E Glass and argon gas, is an Energy Star® approved window and a Consumers Digest Best Buy®.
ENTRY DOORS
When it comes to entry doors, your options are nearly endless. With multiple door suppliers, several handle set options, dozens of glass styles, hundreds of color combinations and still more available extras, your door really will be one in a million. At Capitol Window and Door, you won't be limited to choose from a few off-the-shelf options; we will order a custom built door per your specifications. Whether you want a plain white door with no glass or an elaborate full glass door with zinc caming and stained glass, we have options to meet your needs.
The first major decision that needs to be made is determining what type of door you want. We order our doors from two companies: ProVia™ Door and Central Distributing Company.
Central Distributing Company's line of Century doors offers you good quality at an inexpensive price. These doors are of a higher quality than typical ones seen in most homes or home stores. Most off the shelf doors are know as builder grade. They are mass produced in one or two sizes and very limited in style. Our Century doors, however, are available in a wide variety of sizes and glass styles. Century doors come primed in white and require painting within sixty days of installation.
ProVia™ Door's line of professional class doors brings a level of quality and craftsmanship unknown to most. Doors of this quality are only available from select distributors such as Capitol Window and Door. These doors will come prepainted from the factory in the color(s) or stain(s) of your choice. They come in a wide variety of glass shapes, glass styles, and handle set options. They also come standard with aluminum jamb cladding on your exterior wood so that they will not rot and, with proper cleaning, will never need painting.
ProVia™ Doors are available in fiber glass as well as twenty or twenty-two gauge steel. Twenty gauge is steel is 71% thicker than the typical twenty-six gauge steel doors. This means you have a much stronger, much heavier door, that with proper care, should last a lifetime. Please visit ProVia's website at www.proviadoor.com to learn more.
STORM DOORS
Whether you need a basic storm door to keep the weather off your entry door, or a decorative storm door to accent your home, we can find something that will work for you. Storm doors offer beauty and protection—usually at a very low price. Even if you aren't really that interested in storm doors, think of it as preventative maintenance for your entry door. Spending a few hundred dollars on a storm door can save you from spending a few thousand dollars on a new entry door.
At Capitol Window and Door, we carry a large variety of storm doors. We manufacture many of the storm doors that we sell and also have access to two other suppliers for those who need specific colors or glass styles: National Pride and ProVia™ Door. Please visit ProVia's website at www.proviadoor.com to learn more.
Storm doors are much like replacement windows in that you have to actually get your hands on one to understand the difference between a low and high quality door. A good storm door will actually be quite heavy because of the thicker aluminum used.
STORM WINDOWS
Most everyone seems to agree that vinyl replacement window creates a wonderful addition to any home. However, they tend to be rather expensive. Aluminum storm windows offer a lower cost alternative to replacement windows and provide many of the same benefits.
Adding an aluminum storm window to a single pane wooden window will nearly double its energy efficiency! Though not as efficient as a replacement window, this is still a dramatic improvement. Contrary to what many may think, aluminum storm windows often improve the appearance of your home by adding a clean new look. Storm windows are available in a variety of colors and styles to match your home and will also help preserve your existing wooden windows, helping them last longer.
Though aluminum storm windows may be a product of the past, they still have their place in the modern home. Give us a call and find out how inexpensive this simple improvement can be.
