Why replace my windows and which windows are right for me?
Everyone's needs and preferences are unique. The answer can vary depending on your responses to particular questions, the color you choose, whether you want double or triple pane, if you want woodgrain interior, and the level of quality you want in your windows.
Most people replace their windows because their windows are lacking specific elements that fit their needs. Whether they are experiencing high heating and cooling costs, rotting wood, cold drafts, condensation, cleaning difficulties, or maintenance issues, these are complications that people do not want or expect to deal with.
ENERGY SAVINGS
One question we hear a lot from our customers is, "How much energy savings can I expect?" or "How much will my electricity bill go down with these new windows?" ROTTING WOOD
Most people who have to replace their windows do so because the wood has become rotten. When the sills and brick mold in your windows start to deteriorate, replacing the window moves from being an option to a necessity.
COLD DRAFTS
If a light breeze is felt when you walk by your windows, then you have a problem. Replacing your windows will solve that problem, if you choose the proper window. Different windows have very different air infiltration ratings which determine how much air can get through. CONDENSATION
Condensation between the panes of glass in a double or triple pane window is not only unattractive, it is a sign of inefficiency. If there is condensation between the glasses, it means the window is no longer sealed and has lost much of its energy efficiency. CLEANING DIFFICULTIES
If you have ever tried to clean the area between your window and your storm window, you know how difficult and time consuming it can be. Even without storm windows, it may require climbing ladders or dangerously hanging out of your window to clean it. Choosing a tilt in window will save you time and is certainly safer.
MAINTENANCE ISSUES
Even an energy efficient, high quality wood window requires regular painting and occasional wood repair to keep it in optimum working order. Painting a wood window requires great care to avoid painting the window shut. Our vinyl replacement windows require very little or often no maintenance at all.
